Of amazing vintage, this cloth helmet was worn by Earl Cooper in the early 1910s. It is embroidered with "Stutz" on front and "E.C" on left flap, and comes with race worn goggles. Stutz was the maker of World War I era sports cars including the famous Bearcat, and the open-top design made such headgear and particularly the goggles a necessity.Comes with vintage certification stating it was given to Baldwin Motors owner and Stutz dealer Jimmy Parsons. Shows heavy use with ear pockets for ventilation. Cooper joined the Stutz team in 1912, and won seven of his eight races the following year, finishing second in the other.
