Jack Dempsey fought Tom Gibbons on July 4, 1923, and Dempsey won by decision after 15 rounds to successfully defend his World Heavyweight Title. The fight was held in Shelby, Montana and nearly bankrupted the town. It was forever more known as the "Rape Of Shelby." Offered here is an original on site poster to this event.
