Jose Torres was a Puerto Rican professional boxer. As an amateur, he won a silver medal as a junior middleweight at the 1956 Olympic Games. In 1965, he defeated Willie Pastrano to win the World Light Heavyweight Championship, and in 1997, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Offered here is the original robe used by Jose Torres during his prestigious Golden Gloves career and also worn during his early professional career. This robe is blue satin with orange trim. On back in orange block lettering are the words, "JOSE TORRES." On the front left breast pocket is the NY logo in orange lettering. Manufacturing label for DAVEGA GOLDEN GLOVES in the collar. Includes original orange satin sash. No moth holes are evident. Calf length. Overall Excellent condition. Beautiful in every way. LOA from Jose Torres which indicates this was worn as a professional.
