Accompanied by a signed letter describing it's provenance, this small 3.5" wooden shoe was given to Gerald Ford by the Grand Valley Council at Holland, Michigan, when he first came to congress. The words "Grand Valley Council" are on one side and "Holland Mich." on the other, and it was gifted by Ford to long-time collector Jim Schendel, who wrote to presidents, historical figures, athletes, musicians and more since the 1950s. Comes with a signed typed letter, signed "G.R, Ford" in blue ballpoint pen on US Congress stationery, from August 30, 1963. The shoe itself has a hole in bottom so we can tell he used it as a pen holder.
