Offered here is a circa-1960s Buffalo Bisons home white hockey jersey. The Bisons, who occupied the famed Auditorium in Buffalo before the Sabres joined the NHL, played in the American Hockey Association from 1940-70. A great mix of sports and advertising, the red-white-and-blue logo looks starkly like a Pepsi logo, and that's no accident as the team was purchased in 1956 by an owner of the local cola franchise, who changed the team's logo and colors accordingly. The cotton jersey has a drawstring collar, Dick Fischer Athletic Goods tag in neck with no size indicated, tackle twill uniform number "8" sewn on back and both sleeves, and "7618" stamped inside the tail. It shows heavy use with tears, stick marks, fraying and stains, a great representation of the rough-and-tumble days of the AHL.
