Spectacular imagery documents this internationally-heralded ring battle at the revered Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo. Severe limitations on Inoki's mobility resulted in his spending much of his ring time on the mat, crawling around like a spider and kicking at Ali, who did not land a punch till the seventh round. Ali ultimately eventually suffered two blood clots in his legs, affecting his mobility for the remainder of his boxing career to the point that amputation was also considered.
