A spectacular collection, these twenty-seven 2.25" full color negatives/transparencies catalogue what many feel was the beginning of Muhammad Ali's decline as a fighter as he squared off with Ken Norton for the third time. One of the more unique bouts in boxing history, the Yankee Stadium debacle was marred by a controversial decision and an ugly performance by a hands-off NYPD police force that allowed the lusty crowd to run rampant and looked the other way on an assortment of crime and corruption. Still, these stunning images are a perfect record of what went on in the ring and makes perfect suggestion of what went on outside the ring. In NM-MT condition.
The original negatives and images in this collection are by the personal photographer of Ali's manager Herbert Muhammad. Unpublished, they have not seen the light of day for five decades. Recently discovered, they come with the photographer’s rights. All of the negs/transparencies are unique, “Type I” images that can be used to make prints and products of the finest quality and huge scale.
