Muhammad Ali poses with a Terrell - Machen poster and Ernie Terrell in this vintage image. Ernie held a share of the Heavyweight Boxing Championship in the 1960s but was best known for a title bout he lost in 1967 to Muhammad Ali, who taunted him throughout the brutal fight. This lot consists of three medium-format 2.25" full color negatives of Ali posing with the poster and Ernie himself, most likely before his 1967 fight for the Heavyweight Title. The original negatives and images in this collection are by the personal photographer of Ali's manager Herbert Muhammad. Unpublished, they have not seen the light of day for five decades. Recently discovered, they come with the photographer’s rights. All of the negs/transparencies are unique, “Type I” images that can be used to make prints and products of the finest quality and huge scale.
