This unusual piece joins together two of the first managers in New York Mets' history. Not only is the "Old Perfesser" Casey Stengel pictured with Gil Hodges in an 8x10" photo, but also included is a check written by Stengel to Hodges. The check is dated Aug 25, 1962, and there is a JSA certification that the front was filled out in Casey's hand while the back was signed by Gil. Framed to 15.5x21.5" with photo above the check, the verso features a neat cutout allowing visibility of Hodges' photo. Both New York sports icons donned the pinstripes of the expansion Mets in the early 1960s.
