From the final full season of Pete Rose as manager of the Cincinnati Reds - and in the Major Leagues - this Official National League (Giamatti) baseball shows fine use from Opening Day of the 1988 season and comes with a letter from the fan that caught it and had it signed. It is signed by Rose on the sweet spot, Reds owner Marge Schott on a panel where she added "Great Catch, Opening Day '88" along with her trademark dog's paw, and Commissioner Bart Giamatti on a side panel, as he tried to jokingly add a drawing of an animal below his signature to imitate Schott's dog's paw. The signatures are 7-8/10 and capture a fascinating trio, as Rose would manage Schott's Redlegs into the 1989 season before accepting a lifetime ban from Giamatti.
