Billed as the Fight of the Century, Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali fought for the first time in New York on March 8, 1971. Both were undefeated, both were considered champions - Ali because he had never lost his title in the ring, Frazier because he had beaten just about everyone else and had established himself champion in Ali's absence from the ring. The fight lived up to its billing, an epic battle in which Frazier emerged victorious winning a 15-round decision and knocking Ali down in the process in what was probably Frazier's finest hour. Presented here is an original, souvenir ashtray from this event, given to VIPs. This glass souvenir ashtray pictures both fighters with bold color and print and bold, clear images.
