This exceptional collection of Type 1 vintage photographs originates from award-winning lensman Vincent S. D'Addario, all are 11x14" unless noted: 1) Large facial study of extremely good contrast and quality. 2) "Reserved for Muhammad Ali" parking sign at the Schine Inn in Chicopee, MA, which acted as his training camp for Clay-Liston II, as Ali proudly stands beside his brand new Cadillac. 3) Ali clowns with local fighter at the Schine Inn, interesting POV. 4) Ali poses in the woods with stuffed bear representing upcoming opponent Sonny "The Bear" Liston. Photo is 6.25x6.75" and mounted to 11x13.75." 5) JFK & Jackie in open car, while he was running for U.S. Senator for Massachusetts. An Irish flag flies prominently in the foreground, an allusion to the cultural/religious issues of this and future elections. Both #s 4 & 5 were entered into photo competitions, hence they are mounted on black artist’s matte. D'Addario (1930-2001) was recognized around the world for his photographic excellence, with numerous awards from UPI, AP, National Press Photographers Association, Boston Press Photographers Association, & Look Magazine. He photographed numerous celebrities including JFK & Jackie Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Norman Rockwell, MLK, the first images of Ted Kennedy's 1964 plane crash and of course “The Greatest,” Muhammad Ali as seen in the original negatives & contact sheets lot in this auction.
