From the early stages of his career, Lou Gehrig is captured in this black & white photo of the classic batter's pose. Measuring 5.5x7.5" the Iron Horse is depicted in an empty stadium in this undated shot, believed to be circa 1927, his first MVP season. The verso carries an International News stamp, and has some minor paper damage at the bottom, likely from an affixed caption since detached. There is a crease across the shot and some minor edge damage but this is still a beautiful image of the tragic Yankee great.
