Baseball stars through the ages have enjoyed celebrity well beyond the boundaries of sport, and perhaps none was ever larger than Babe Ruth. This rare 6.5x8.5" black & white Type I photo shows The Bambino as a thespian, taking to the vaudeville circuit in 1921, as he rehearses his lines with Wellington Cross at the Palace Theater in New York. The photo is stamped on the verso by International, and displays some tape and paper loss at the edges. Still, the Babe depicted in an uncommon venue, resplendent in Yankees sweater, is a photo for the ages.
