While it is undated, this photo originates from early in the career of a youthful Stan Musial. This 8x10" matte finish picture is Type I, with a great visage of the smiling slugger. Taken by George Burke, the verso bears the stamp of one of the most celebrated sports photographers of all time. There is a very small crease in one corner, but it is hard to find an imperfection on this card-stock beauty. Musial missed the 1945 season due to World War II, and his three MVP awards came both before and after that hiatus.
