This vintage scorecard comes from the first win of Hall of Famer Rube Marquard's career, on April 17, 1909, when his NY Giants defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by 4-1 score at the Polo Grounds. Date and score are written on the front cover of this 7x10.5" game program, and it is completely scored in pen on the centerfold card. The ink from the scoring bled slightly through the paper stock, but there are no other stray marks, and very minor creasing - it rates as VG-EX condition but considering the age of this specimen it is extremely well-preserved. Marquard would proceed to win 201 games in his 18-year career, 103 of those with the Giants.
