The small New England sporting goods company started a line of "Base Ball Gloves And Mitts" entitled "The Nigger Line." This referred to the black leather color of the equipment. Founders W.T. Stall & C.H. Dean themselves are pictured in the front of the catalogue, seemingly proud of what they have wrought. Major league players pictured inside add to the wrong. The catalogue has punch holes on the sides and wear throughout, however, this is the only one of these we have handled or seen in our nearly 50 years in the hobby.
