A stirring Bronze of the Commerce Comet, this is extremely tough to find as it was limited to just 298 pieces (#18/298). Magnificent in stature and detail, Mickey Mantle was glorified in a statute in his home of Commerce, Oklahoma, and this smaller version was created as a fundraising device circa 1988. The original still stands, nine feet tall, in Commerce, created by sculptor Nick Calcagno. The base of his little brother here reads: "MICKEY MANTLE - COMMERCE COMET - NEW YORK YANKEES 1951-1968 - SOONER PRIDE COMMITTEE, COMMERCE OKLA." The statue is 10.5" tall and is extremely well crafted in Mantlesque detail. It is in NRMT-MT condition.
