Raised on a horse farm in France, sports artist and cartoonist Pierre "Peb" Bellocq fashioned a successful career creating caricatures of horses and horse racing personalities. Here's one of his watercolor pieces depicting Spend A Buck owner Dennis Diaz and trainer Cam Gamolati situated at the base of a bean stalk with money growing from it. A "Jersey Derby" adorns the very top and Diaz queries: "Where does our 'buck' stop?" a reference to the amount of money made by skipping the Triple Crown in 1985 and going after the bonuses offered at Garden State Park. Framed and matted, the piece measures 20x30" in its frame and appears NRMT. It is signed by Peb with date of "85".
