Talk about a regal bloodline! A.P. Indy was sired by Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew and out of mare Weekend Surprise, who was herself sired by another Triple Crown winner: Secretariat. A.P. Indy is a champion stallion whose career is arguably the greatest in the history of horse racing, certainly on par with Man O' War, Seattle Slew and Mr. Prospector. And not only as a sire but as a sire of sires. The thoroughbred racehorse was scratched on the morning of the 1992 Kentucky Derby but was there training. This saddle cloth was worn by A.P. Indy in winning the 1991 Hollywood Futurity Stakes at Hollywood Park, and is in race worn condition. A.P. Indy was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2000, and since being retired to stud has sired hundreds of winning thoroughbreds, including over 140 stakes winners. Guess he has earned the right to boast about his offspring!
