Here is an interesting pinback button celebrating the 50-year anniversary of April 9, 1865, the day that Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ending the American Civil War. What's more unusual is the badge reads "Long Beach" and the paper label in the back reads Western Badge & Button Co. with a Los Angeles address. We were able to find an article that the G.A.R. did in fact march in Long Beach, CA in 1915. The celluloid badge is 1.63" in diameter and is NRMT.
