Objects d'art related to Josephine Baker are very rare and desirable. She was a star in Europe and then in the US. Baker could never have received the fame and accolades she earned in the 1920s for her beauty and erotic dancing in France at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees and the Folies Bergere; there was just too much racism during the period in the United States. This is a German-made 1925 figurine of Josephine Baker measuring 4.5" high and in NRMT condition. The feather skirt was worn at La Revue Negre in the Danse Sauvage, so this is an early item before the Folies Bergere. No chips, cracks or crazing.
