Babe Ruth was rarely one to turn down an autograph request, as this historic and touching correspondence reveals. Written by the legendary American icon on "Babe Ruth New York" letterhead, Ruth writes to Cadet Lieutenant Richard Rosebury of the Valley Forge Military Academy, stating: "I have an autographed baseball for you for some time and suggested to Mr. Daltz that you come to the exhibition game at Dexter Park, Brooklyn, on Sunday, as my guest." It comes with original mailing envelope postmarked Oct. 19th, 1935, from New York, New York and addressed to Rosebury. There are typical mailing folds but otherwise is in EX condition. The typed letter is signed "Babe Ruth" in 8/10 black ink. Both the letter and envelope are framed, along with an original 8x10" photo of Ruth and Jacob Ruppert with school-aged baseball players. The entire piece measures roughly 20.5x26".
