Here is a rare ticket to the centennial 1876 Republican National Convention held at the Exposition Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 14-16, 1876. President Ulysses S. Grant failed to seek a third term because of a failing presidency, weak economy and Democratic gains in Congress. Instead the convention resulted in the nomination of Governor Rutherford B. Hayes of Ohio for President, and Representative William A. Wheeler of New York for Vice President. The process was entertainment and theater for the political sect, often contentious as various factions of party insiders maneuvered to advance their candidates. Ticket measures 1.75x4" and is for a really good seat, first floor, section C and EX+ condition.
