Delicate and delightful, this simple little paddle-shaped cardboard game from the early 20th Century includes the original miniature wooden ball attached to a string and five holes in which the ball can land, each representing a game result such as home run or base on balls. It is meant to pit the 1902 Philadelphia A's versus the 1905 A's. Unearthing this game is an incredibly rare feat, but finding one still in its original box is even more mind-boggling. The game rules, as well as printed pictures of Hall of Fame pitcher Rube Waddell and first-baseman Harry Davis, appear on the back. A Camden Tea Company premium mailer manufactured by the General Sales Company of Mint Arcade, Philadelphia, it is in EX+ condition.
