This unique keepsake will bring fans back to the thrilling 1973 World Series between the Oakland A's and the New York Mets. Many fans remember the image of home plate ump Augie Donatelli missing the Game 2 call on a potential Mets' go-ahead run in the 10th inning, sending Buddy Harrelson into a sprawling fit and leaving Willie Mays pleading at home plate. This ring was given to Donatelli for his umpiring in that series, and is 14K gold with an actual 60 point diamond on top. It's stamped by Balfour and also has Donatelli's name engraved inside. The bezel notes "World Series Umpire" with the team names each gracing one shank. Lest history be unfair, the veteran umpire's call was not a factor in the Mets' eventual seven-game loss to Oakland, as New York proceeded to win that controversial game in 12 innings. 36.4g. Comes with Balfour ring box and original purchase LOA from consignor. Size 10 1/2
