This unusual keepsake featuring the legendary Ty Cobb is as nice as any of its kind that we've seen. This high-grade pinback dates to 1909 and is in NRMT to MT condition. Measuring about 1.25" in diameter, the colorful pin features a crisp black-and-white headshot photo of Cobb. Across the top is a blue Morton's flag, and across the bottom of the yellow border reads "Buster Brown Bread" in blue lettering. Known now for peddling shoes, Buster Brown was a turn-of-the century comic character that was affixed to other products, including Morton's Bread. As such, Buster himself is also illustrated here, along with his dog Tige. Cobb is not identified though it is clearly his image, and the paper backing includes a patent note dating July 21, 1896.
