Known more for being the home of the Stanley Cup darlings, the Montreal Canadiens, the Forum naturally hosted countless other events. Here's a fascinating example from 1960 - a colorful, boxing card-style poster promoting a massive January 22 concert filled with many of the star attractions from the early days of Rock and Roll. Included are headliner Frankie Avalon, Clyde McPhatter, Bobby Rydell, Johnny & the Hurricanes, the Crests, Freddy Cannon, Samme Turner, Linda Laurie, the Isley Brothers, the Clovers, Dick Caruso, Harold Cromer, the Paul Williams Orchestra and, perhaps most fascinating, the British Elvis Presley: Cliff Richard, whose name is misspelled on the card as "Richards." Measuring 23.5x29", this is quite simply a terrific slice of music history from a cherished era and one of the finest posters we have handled. It is framed and in EX condition with the bottom margin revealing: "Globe Poster Baltimore Printed In USA."
