French Limoges of magnificent quality and "Roger Bresnahan" in gold lettering on a baseball occupational shaving mug. Owned and used by the Hall of Famer Roger himself, these mugs were used extensively at the turn of the 20th century in barber shops across America. They held a cake of soap that was worked up into a rich lather with a bristle brush at a time when it was commonplace for men to visit barber shops for a close straight razor shave. In many barber shops, a fitted shelf held spots for the personalized mugs of its patrons. These mugs usually had the customer's name, and a hand painted illustration of the man's occupation. This mug is marked Lang & Co and T&V France (Limoges Mark). There was a chip on the base that was professionally restored which you can not see, and the gold lettering of his name has been darkened. Comes with the original brush, overall in NRMT condition. This came directly from the Estate of Roger Bresnahan. Comes with letter of authenticity signed by Roger Bresnahan's Grand Nephew "Roger Bresnahan" referring to "Toiletries Set of Four" which included this mug and brush.
