Quaint and charming, this heavily laminated black lacquer pencil box displays a colorful Allen & Ginter quality baseball scene atop its lid. A dozen players from the 1880s are warming up and hanging out on the field, with two men holding a bar from which the bases are descending. One of the finest examples that we have seen. Better than excellent condition, which is virtually impossible for this type of item.
