This is a one-of-a-kind cardboard standee advertises the classic June 18, 1936 (delayed one day) fight at Yankee Stadium vs. Max Schmeling. Louis entered the ring undefeated, but the veteran Schmeling saw a flaw in his style, exploited it and knocked Louis out in the 12th round. Ring Magazine named this Fight Of The Year. There is water damage to the bottom but it displays beautifully, standing 36" tall and framed to 20" x 41" overall. There may have been an accompanying Schmeling standee but we haven't seen any evidence of such to date. Essentially a terrific site poster, it represents perfectly an historic fight at an historic venue. Edge and corner wear with some chipping and soiling.
