Dr. James Naismith invented the game of basketball in 1891, and soon after, this "Big League Basket Ball" game was manufactured by Baumgarten & Co., Inc of Baltimore. Featuring a plastic purple base, metal rim, wood basketball and orange mesh hoop, the primitive game that can fit inside the palm of one's hand is contained in a vintage 3.5" x 3.5" "utensil box" which has some flaking, along with the affixed label. EX condition.
