An amazing series of framed crafted images by an early collector who used professional methods to create a vivid legacy memorabilia-wise. Each piece is a significant work of art. Measuring 11.5" x 14.75" they consist of a paper image beautifully die-cut that displays either baseball supplement images or actual silver gelatin photos. Against a brown background, the bottoms consist of handcut lettering of the players names affixed to a matte that was privately handpicked and is the best part of all this. The artwork is original and magnificent. Multiple stars frame the borders with great baseball imagery of umpires, players and traditional crossed bat logos used to mock the official AL/NL logos of the period. The frames are old and original dating this to the 30s. Some players predate this period so this is an early collector's piece that displays as a commercial display for a store. It has some water damage on some subjects, who are as follows: Monte Weaver, Larry Benton, "Wally" Schang, Ed Brandt, Johnny Vander Meer, Jim Vaughn, Charles Root, Lester Bell, Henry "Hank" Gowdy, William Jurges, "Schoolboy" Rowe, Hal Trosky, Fred Schjulte, Fred Snyder, Dan Mac Fayden, Wm. Wambsganss, Max Carey, William James, Emil Meusel, Charles Herzog, Frank Hogan, Sam Rice, Billy Herman and Eppa Rixey, whose frame is significantly smaller (roughly 8" x 13" with glass missing). They can use some cleaning, but are overall a great group.
