A terrific specimen, this stick is 53" long and handmade by Native Americans and was found with photos, many early documents, and newspaper article of Charles S. Powell. Powell was a significant figure in establishing lacrosse in United States. A former Canadian, he organized the Maple Leaf Lacrosse team, Philadelphia's first ever. At one time he rented a park in Philly from A.J. Reach, the same park used by the A's and Phillies, to play Lacrosse. Just some of the netting is separated, otherwise in exceptional condition as it came directly from Powell estate.
