The 1982-83 NHL season marked the debut of the New Jersey Devils franchise. After moving from Colorado, the Devils struggled through the '80s before winning three Stanley Cup championships in nine seasons from 1995 to 2003. This SandowSK heavy mesh jersey was donned during the team’s inaugural season. Garry Howatt’s size X-Large jersey features his number “88” sewn on both sleeves and the back below a shoulder-to-shoulder nameplate. Stick marks are scattered throughout the jersey with a few of note along the bottom hem and across the back numbers. Both sleeves have been custom-shortened for Howatt’s 5’9” frame. Gerry Cosby and SandowSK logos are screened on the back hem and the ribbon-style fight strap remains inside the back. Gerry Cosby, Sandow Sporting Knit Inc., and washing instruction tags sewn inside the collar.
