This splendid 19th century shaving mug belonged to a ballplayer of the era. Men would keep their own personal mugs at the barbershop in those days for personal use. Those with the desire (and cash) would have their occu-pation handpainted in full-color designs. Baseball mugs are among the rarest and most desirable of the "occupa-tional shaving mugs." They are equally desired by shaving mug and barber collectors as well as baseball collectors. The name of the player, "Steve Toth," is handpainted on the side in brilliant gold leaf design. The bottom is marked, "T&V Limoges, France." Condition is EX-MT.
