New York Yankees rookie pitcher Frank "Spec" Shea - who earned his nickname thanks to his freckles - burst onto the scene in 1947 and almost immediately struck an endorsement deal with a beer company from his home state. This 10x13.5" cardboard display celebrates two "Connecticut Favorites" in Shea, who was from Naugatuck, and Hull's Famous Beer. The colorful ad with easel back shows no significant wear with the exception of a couple of notches and a 1" crease, otherwise EX+. Shea went 14-5 in 27 appearances during his rookie campaign, earning the victory in that year's All-Star Game. He finished behind crosstown rival Jackie Robinson for the first Rookie of the Year award.
