NHL All-Star defenseman Mike O’Connell donned this beautiful Chicago Blackhawks jersey during his sophomore season in 1978-79 while playing alongside Bobby Orr. The front is littered with stick marks, material runs un-repaired holes and three team repairs including one at the base of the neckline and two on the lower left. The left sleeve is hammered with board burns, un-repaired holes and piling while the right sleeve has board burns, un-repaired holes, and one team repair. The back displays battle scars in the form of material runs, team repairs where O’Connell’s nameplate used to reside and dark stains on the lower right hem. Excellent piling throughout the inside. “78” year tag sewn inside the front right hem with a Gunzo’s tag sewn inside the neck. Beautifully chain-stitched crest and tomahawk shoulder logos round out this striking original six team example.
