He was one of the architects of storied ballpark Ebbets Field, and for a short while, he owned a piece of the inhabiting Brooklyn Dodgers. The name Stephen W. McKeever has been commonly conspicuous on letters and documents, but rarely if ever seen on a baseball. That is until this 1920s official National League ball surfaced. There are other signatures visible though hard to decipher. The "S.W. McKeever," however, on a side panel, is in 6/10 black ink. The ball appears to have been game used. McKeever died as president of the ballclub at the age of 84 in 1938.
