Gerry Cooney was one of the prominent heavyweights of the 1970s and early 1980s, a tremendous puncher who featured one of the great left hooks in the history of the sport. Cooney excelled as an amateur before turning professional. He reeled off a consecutive winning streak which included victories over notables Ron Lyle and Ken Norton. Cooney faced World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes in a much anticipated fight and hurt Holmes early, but the accomplished Holmes rallied and stopped Cooney late in the fight and Cooney's career dropped from there. We offer a rare corner man jacket used by the corner of Cooney in one of his fights. Green satin with Cooney's name on back in a circle with a shamrock. Size Med. EX.
