When Hugh Hefner debuted Playboy magazine in 1953, a nude Marilyn Monroe centerfold made quite a splash. The iconic photo itself, however, was originally taken for a calendar. Ironically, Hef did not publish his first Playmate calendar until 1957 (for the 1958 calendar) and has been doing so ever since. Monroe was not included in the period cheesecake photography, but this lot includes that first edition in original envelope (1958). Years with envelopes are 1964, '65 and '83. Years without envelopes: 1959 and '81. Overall the items are in VG+ condition.
