On the surface, the 1929 World Series appears to have been a walk in the park by the mighty Philadelphia A's as they downed the Chicago Cubs in five games. But upon closer inspection, the series was very much hanging in the balance midway through Game 4 as the Cubs, trailing two games to one, were poised to tie the series, building a seemingly insurmountable 8-0 lead headed to the bottom of the seventh inning at Philly's Shibe Park. That's when the wheels fell off, however, as the Athletics ripped off 10 runs, aided by a three-run, inside-the-park homer by Mule Haas that was lost in the sun by Hack Wilson, prolonging the record-setting uprising. Philadelphia cruised from there, wrapping things up two days later with another comeback victory, walking off with a 3-2 win thanks to Bing Miller's two-run homer.
