Using language that would be considered by most folks as pretty tame by today's standards, pioneering standup comedian Lenny Bruce was arrested rather frequently on obscenity charges in the early 1960s. He was tried several times for what some would consider a foul-mouthed stage act, and these four dual sided negatives from March of 1962 come from one of those trials in California as Bruce is seated beside his attorney and using a tape recorder. The original negatives come from the files of the San Francisco Examiner and include the photographer's original notes.
