The Finest Cy Young letter we have ever offered or seen, with tremendous content detailing the "best hitters" of his career: Ty Cobb, Wagner, Lajoie, Delahanty, Anson etc.. He also goes into tremendous detail on his mechanics and soul of his pitching itself. The letter reads in full... "4/14 1944 Mr Roger Berra Dear Sir, Yours at hand in reply. I Had a wonderful physique and a good arm too, good care of it I was my own trainer. I had plenty of body action so used everything i had. My pitching was aim to can good health no accident good liver worked on the farm after the season was over. My control was maternal it was hereditary in fact no private pitching rules it was natural. Did not have to work to get control. The best hitters were Ty Cobb, Wagner, Lajoie, Delahanty, Anson etc. Trust this, none were better. Yours Sincerely, Cy Young Peoli O." This is fresh to the market, recently discovered at a county auction in New England. Folded but otherwise NRMT. Dated April 14, 1944. Cy Young letters with this caliber of content are impossible compared to Ty Cobb who often waxed poetic. Truly a one-of-a-kind piece.
