Organized in 1954, the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame was just three years old when it inducted Hall of Fame Catcher Mickey Cochrane, who, despite being a Massachusetts native, made a name for himself with the Detroit Tigers. This bronze on wood award measures roughly 10" x 12" and is in EX condition. It was made by Walter E. Kutch Co. and includes the company sticker on the back. The plaque reads: "STATE OF MICHIGAN SPORTS HALL OF FAME GORDON S. COCHRANE." Cochrane was the fifth inductee, one year after Ty Cobb was enshrined.
