From the checkbook of one of the most dominant players in professional basketball history, we present a rare bank check signed by Bill Russell. Or, as the case may be, William F. Russell. The check - which is issued by Rainier Bank to Chevron - is dated 7/16/78 and signed in 9/10 blue ball point pen by the Hall of Fame center. There is a fold at the center but otherwise is in EX condition. Russell commandeered the Boston Celtics to 11 NBA titles over his 13-year career and had been the head coach of the expansion Seattle Supersonics in the mid-1970s, shortly before he wrote out this check. Russell checks are simply not out there.
