The U.S.A. racked up a nation-best 174 medals during the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, including 83 Golds. This size 11, 10 Karat gold Jostens ring was presented to J. Dodson of the United States Olympic Committee and his name is engraved inside. Encircling the green gem on the face is: "LAOOC LOS ANGELES." To the left of that is the wording: "GAMES OF THE XXIII OLYMPIAD." The Olympic logo is on the right side. The ring is in NRMT condition. Fourteen Eastern Bloc countries, including the Soviet Union, Cuba and East Germany boycotted the Games, as did Iran and Libya in a separate beef with the U.S. This was the second Olympics held in L.A. as the City of Angels had also hosted the event 50 years earlier.
