Cal Abrams played the first three years of his eight-year major league career with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Here's his contract for the 1949 season, totaling $6,000. it is signed on the interior by Abrams and general manager Branch Rickey (8 out 10). It exhibits typical fold lines and light residue from having been mounted in a scrapbook. On April 20, 1949, Abrams made his Major League debut with the Dodgers, and then was sent to the Fort Worth Cats of the AA Texas League for the rest of the season, where he hit .333. He was back up in Brooklyn the following season.
