The Florida Marlins stunned the baseball world in 1997, becoming the first Wild Card team to win the World Series, upsetting the Cleveland Indians on Edgar Renteria's single in the bottom of the 11th inning of Game 7. Their ace that October turned out to be Cuban defector Livan Hernandez, who earned both the NLCS and Series MVP honors. This official NLCS Baseball was given to Hernandez after he pitched a complete game in the decisive Game 6. It is signed in blue ink grading 9/10. Also appearing in black ink is: "NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP * WIN * OCTOBER 12, 1997 PRO PLAYER STADIUM ATLANTA BRAVES 9 INNINGS, 3 HITS, 1 ER, 2 WALKS, 15 STRIKEOUTS, MARLINS 2 BRAVES 1, A-51,982, T-2:24." The ball shows nice use and comes with an LOA signed by Hernandez.
