Hall of Fame outfielder and manager Billy Southworth had a career that spanned 38 years in baseball, though personal problems kept him out of the majors for most of the 1930s. This baseball is dated 1930 and signed: "Compliments and Best Wishes To Schullie, Champs 1928, 29, 30." Southworth - who was posthumously enshrined in Cooperstown in 2008 - played for, and managed, the Rochester Red Wings team at times throughout the years, leading them to Governor's Cup titles in 1929, 1930 and 1931 with over 100 wins in each of those seasons. This is an official International League ball, and the signature is in fountain pen, grading a 6 out of 10 in strength. The ball is toned with readable stampings.
